Complete 1976 Kennedy Bicentennial Half Dollar Collection

Celebrate America’s Bicentennial with this 1976 John F. Kennedy Half Dollar Collection, bringing together all five major varieties of the 1776-1976 Kennedy Half Dollar in one convenient set. Rather than searching for the different clad, silver, Uncirculated, and Proof issues individually, this collection provides an opportunity to own each variety together in a presentation dedicated to America’s 200th anniversary.

Each Kennedy Half Dollar carries the distinctive 1776-1976 dual date created for the United States Bicentennial celebration. The collection includes examples produced in both copper-nickel clad and 40% silver compositions, along with Brilliant Uncirculated and Proof finishes. Together, the five coins highlight the different ways this historic half dollar was issued during one of the most memorable commemorative coinage programs in U.S. Mint history.

All Five 1776-1976 Kennedy Half Dollar Varieties

The collection brings together five varieties of the Bicentennial Kennedy Half Dollar: the Philadelphia and Denver copper-nickel clad business strikes, the San Francisco copper-nickel clad Proof, the San Francisco 40% silver Uncirculated issue, and the San Francisco 40% silver Proof. This combination provides a more complete look at the different minting locations, compositions, and finishes associated with the Bicentennial Kennedy Half Dollar.

The 40% silver Kennedy Half Dollars add precious metal appeal to the collection, while the Proof issues showcase the design with highly polished fields and carefully struck details. Displaying all five varieties side by side makes it easy to appreciate the differences between the individual issues while preserving the story of the 1976 Bicentennial coinage.

Special Independence Hall Bicentennial Reverse

The obverse retains Gilroy Roberts’ portrait of President John F. Kennedy, but replaces the traditional single-year date with “1776-1976.” This special dual date connects the familiar Kennedy Half Dollar directly to the 200th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence and the founding era of the United States.

For the Bicentennial, the traditional Presidential Seal reverse was temporarily replaced by Seth Huntington’s Independence Hall design. The Philadelphia landmark is depicted with the words “200 YEARS OF FREEDOM” above it, while “INDEPENDENCE HALL” appears below. Independence Hall is especially fitting for the anniversary, as it was the location where the Declaration of Independence was adopted in 1776.

Presented in an Informational Bicentennial Folder

All five coins are housed together in an attractive Bicentennial Half Dollar Collection informational folder. The patriotic presentation highlights John F. Kennedy, the American flag, and Independence Hall while providing historical information about America’s Bicentennial and the importance of the Philadelphia landmark.

Whether you collect Kennedy Half Dollars, U.S. Bicentennial coins, 40% silver coinage, or pieces connected to American history, this five-coin collection offers a convenient way to own the complete group of major 1976 Kennedy Half Dollar issues in one display-ready presentation.
